Christmas Playlist

I think Christmas music is the best music in the world. Every song has a story to tell.  Hit songs these days don't have a story.  Maybe that's why I only listen to show tunes.  I have a different favorite Christmas song every year but for the most part they are all classics.   This is my list of favorites for 2013.

1. O Holy Night.  Favorite Version(s): Josh Groban, Celine Dion

2.  White Christmas.  Favorite Version: BING CROSBY, DUH!

3.  Go Tell it on the Mountain. Favorite Version: James Taylor

4.  All of the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Songs. Yes the Claymation version. I am obsessed with this movie. I can sing every word to every song. Don't judge.

5. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.  Version: Bing Crosby

6. Believe from the Polar Express. Josh Groban

7. What Child is This? Version: Andrea Bocelli ft. Mary J. Blige

8.  Silent Night. Version: David Archuleta

9.  The Christmas Song. Version: Frank Sinatra

10.  I'll Be Home for Christmas.  Version: Michael BublĂ©

A Public Service Announcement

I am not a fashionista, or have I ever claimed to be, but I just have to get this off my chest.

Not all people should wear a fedora.

Please ask yourself this vital question.
"Do I honestly look good in a fedora?"

Woof. I feel much better.

My life in California.

So I have lived in California for 5 months now. Crazy! This has been an experience of a life time. It has been super challenging. I realized a couple strengths and weaknesses of mine that need work. I love California and I hope to reside here again someday.

For now, I am so excited to go back to Utah. I am going to attend UVU in January. I decided to attend here rather than Dixie for a semester so I could try and get myself back on my feet. I realized in Cali, that I really do love Utah. I really have missed the change of seasons, and I don't hate winter THAT much.  I realized that it is okay to be scared and miss your mom and dad. I also learned that flaws are awesome. Who would we be if we didn't have flaws?  I am grateful for Cali. It was so hard. It was really hard to develop a relationship with my sister and brother-in-law. It was REALLY hard to go to church alone every Sunday and have no one to talk to. It was WONDERFUL that I have best friend that is my nephew and can't even say my name or walk. He is the best.  It was awesome to be able to go to Disneyland whenever I wanted. It was incredibly nerdy that I went to D23 and loved every ounce of it.

Anyway, I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had these last five months, but I am ready to move on.

Look out, Utah. I'm coming home.

Today I was Brave.

I know that it is a cliche when people say don't grow up too quickly. Well, It's the truth. Growing up sucks. Today, I had to do something that terrified me and I had to do it all alone.

I braved the singles ward.

That may sound dumb, but in utah you've got friends that will go to the same ward as you and be a comfort to you. Not in California.

I was all alone. Going to a ward where I knew absolutely no one.

I may have had a little break down this morning. I thought "no way!" and "they are all looking to get married! I don't even want to date!" but I just sucked it up and went.  My sister came in while I was getting ready and asked if I was okay. Trying to be brave and hold back the tears I responded with my concerns. She assured me that everything would be fine, it would be hard, but fine.

So off I went.

I sat down on the back row and by myself.  Not very much time passed when a girl came up and asked if I was Chandler. It turned out that this girl was a friend of my sister and my sister had sent her a picture of me, my info and asked her to help me along.

I was so grateful. I didn't even care how creepy it was in the first place. I had someone to be my comfort.

Now, this may seem insignificant to you, but to me this meant a lot. This whole thing means a lot.

I knew that God was watching out for me, I knew that he knew how I felt. I knew that he worked through my sister and her friend to tell me he knew what I was going through. I am very blessed.

I knew today that I can do things that scare me. Life is all about doing things that may be scary, but you do it with faith and you are blessed.

Someone is watching out for you and me.

Why do I even have a blog?

I really don't know why I still have this. I never write on this. Twitter is a much better option if you really care about what I have to say.

Anyway...

I live in California now. What? I have been here for five days. It has been the most uncomfortable five days of my life. I am away from my family, which scares me to death. I know, I live with my sister and her husband, but I have never had a good relationship with her. Let's just say this is interesting. I feel like I can't be myself. I don't know if it is because I'm not used to not seeing my parents and sister/best friend everyday. I am trying to figure this out.

But,
I'm in California. It's so beautiful. They weather is perfect, it's not too hot or too cold. I really am so lucky. I get to be with my nephew 24/7. I am away from people who have hurt me. I never have to see them again. I miss Suzie, Natalie, and Elizabeth. I miss them SO much. SERIOUSLY.  I am living a dream life right now. I wish I had a life so it could be more enjoyable.

I know it will get better. It's just hard right now.

This is life, right?

Adventure, fear, hope, dreams.

My great adventure has begun.

PS. I am going to see "Catch Me If You Can" (the musical) for my birthday on friday, and I couldn't be more excited!

Here I Go

I never thought I would be writing this. I never thought this would happen. Time flies.

 I'm graduating.

I'm leaving behind so many things I love. I know that this is all part of life, but it still hurts. I am going to miss the drama department. I am going to miss film. I'll miss bawling my eyes out with J when we watch "Power of One" in film. I'll miss laughing at the things J says under his breath. I miss the feeling of home I get when I walk into the drama room. I'll miss our before and after school conversations. I'll miss Suzie, Holly, Elizabeth, Natalie, and Cody. You are truly my best friends and I love you to death.

I'm ready to go.  I will always have a place for you in my heart.

I'm enough.

There is a point in everyones life where they think they aren't enough.  I have gone through that for a long time. Today I know that I am enough. Even if I have no support and people are constantly putting me down, I know it.

I have friends who are constantly trying to be someone they aren't. I am sorry. I have noticed a change in you. Where did you go? When did you become so self absorbed? What happened to the odd person that didn't care?

Anyways, I wish some people would understand that they are different.  Am I not good enough for you any more?  I want my old friends back. I want friend who will stop being jerks to everyone around them.

It isn't only hurting me, It is hurting everyone around you.
